Helping to Promote Global Awareness

The Gluten Intolerance Group continues to reach across borders to help promote advocacy and awareness for those with living with gluten-related disorders. Through the concentrated efforts of Lola O’Rourke, GIG’s Education Manager, the Gluten Intolerance Group is collaborating with Celiac India to help create resources and educational opportunities that will have a positive impact on the health and happiness of the Indian community.

Celiac India is a dedicated resource base set up for celiac families by Dr. Pankaj Vohra. Certified by the American Board of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Dr. Vohra has diagnosed and managed approximately 1,000 children with celiac disease over his past 15 years of work in Delhi. His dream is to help his patients and their families to learn more about living and leading a happy, gluten-free lifestyle. He hopes to achieve this goal through the creation of awareness amongst industry leaders, healthcare professionals, and the country’s top chefs.

GIG is excited to have the opportunity to work with Dr. Vohra and his team to provide creative resources and information on Celiac India’s recently launched web site. The site includes materials for the newly diagnosed celiac patient, first-hand accounts of previous patient’s experiences, and a guide to dining out. We look forward to providing additional materials and our expertise to help Dr. Vohra and his organization with their efforts to bring awareness to the entire population of India.
